OverviewReporting directly to the PD Manager, the Product Developer will be responsible for Design, researching, developing and launching new products for the Apparel lines. He/she will be responsible for product development and planning throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product requirements, working closely with the buying department and ensuring that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. He/she will also ensure that the product is aligned with the strategy and goals of the business.CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIESOversee and manage product process in line with the business goals and objectives.Maintain calendar to ensure that all sample deadlines are metResearch new styles and models to propose to buyersCreate specification sheets for all new products createdManage quality control up to PPs of production and approve themFitting of prototypesCoordinate creation and updating excel grid in term of coding, cost entering, time line inserting and quantity entering collected by the buying departmentCheck the lab-dip and the art-work of production with sizes developmentsWork with product management team to ensure an efficient processParticipate in cross-functional teams to execute product development planWork in synergy with tech design and quality control officesRealize and follow-up technical cards with suppliersCommunicate daily with factories for progress of samples and troubleshoot any product development issuesNegotiate costs with factories to meet targets and margin goalsVisit factories and resolve issues as requiredManage costs and referencing of stylesMeet locally specialized vendorsAttend fashion and textile showsProvide SKU analysis as neededCreate style/colour/codes and data maintenance in EnoviaFill BOMs in EnoviaQualificationsAt least 4 years of relevant work experience in the same role and fieldStrong ability with Adobe (photoshop and Illustrator)Strong knowledge of womenswear and menswear required, preferably Outlet divisionMust prove to have a clear understanding of the Guess Brand DNAKnowledge of and experience using conventional and unconventional fabrics and materialsFamiliarity with vendor management and negotiationMust have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-upExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levelProblem solving and negotiating skillsFlexible in ever-changing, fast paced environmentDeadline driven with a track record of delivering excellent results on timeExtensive computer experience including but not limited to Microsoft: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Model Form, EnoviaFluent English.
