PpbbMission /b /b /p /p liEPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, is one of the most dynamic university campuses in Europe and ranks among the top 20 universities worldwide. /li liEPFL’s School of Engineering is now looking for an IT Support Technician to join their IT support team onsite at EPFL’s Lausanne campus, with occasional work taking also place at the EPFL Neuchâtel campus. /li ppbbMain duties and responsibilities /b /b /p /p liIT support: You will join a small, collaborative IT support team with structured onboarding and team support, enabling you to deliver IT support to onsite and remote users either in person, or via emails, tickets, and calls, resolving both basic and progressively more complex issues. /li liHardware management: Assist clients in IT equipment purchasing and deployments (Windows, macOS, Linux) using fleet management and other tools. Diagnose and resolve hardware issues. /li liUnified communications: Provide support for videoconferencing tools, rooms and events. /li liIT classroom support: Set up and troubleshoot IT equipment and applications in IT classrooms. /li liSoftware support and patch management: Install and configure software, troubleshoot application-related issues and manage IT software updates for end-user machines. /li liNetwork access: Manage client access to the EPFL network and resolve connectivity issues. /li liDocumentation: Actively maintain the IT documentation - both internal and client facing - as part of the support team’s responsibilities. /li liIT projects: Participate in IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and faculty-wide rollouts. /li liSecurity: Contribute to IT security by taking care of hardware and software lifecycle. /li ppbbProfile /b /b /p /p pRequired qualifications:br/br/ /p liExperience in IT support with a strong customer service approach. /li liFamiliarity with IT support ticket management systems (e.g. ServiceNow). /li liProficiency in deploying, managing and troubleshooting at least two of the following operating systems: Linux, macOS or Windows. /li liExperience with IT hardware management (laptops, workstations, PC components). /li liExperience with AV and videoconferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams). /li liKnowledge of concepts such as Active Directory, LDAP, and GPO. /li liGood knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g. IP addressing, firewalls, port openings, VPN). /li pbr/Nice-to-have qualifications: br/br/ /p liExperience in scripting (e.g. Linux: bash; or Windows: batch/powershell) or in programming languages and tools (e.g. Python, git). /li liKnowledge of ITIL or similar industry best practices (incident / change management). /li p br/Your Profile:br/br/ /p liBachelors in Computer Science or CFC, with at least 3-5 years of working in the IT field. /li liCustomer-focused, easy to approach, calm and flexible mindset: you enjoy working with people. /li liYou enjoy troubleshooting problems and juggling different requests in a dynamic environment. /li liWillingness to support events occasionally outside regular hours. /li liFluent in French and English; verbal and written. /li liMotivated, team-oriented and ability to meet deadlines. /li liDetail-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning and team collaboration. /li ppbbWe offer /b /b /p /p liFull-time permanent position according to Swiss federal salary scales. /li liWork at a world-class institution ranked in the global top 10 for engineering and technology. /li liExposure to a diverse and technically rich environment supporting researchers, engineers, and students at the forefront of science and technology. /li liOpportunities to grow into more specialized roles (systems, endpoint management, automation) depending on interest and performance. /li liDiverse, multicultural working environment. /li liFamily-friendly policies, including child and education allowances. /li liDiscounts for public transport and car sharing services at reduced prices. /li pbbr/Further information:br/br/ /b /p liWork location: Primary work location is EPFL’s Lausanne campus.
