About Our Client
Our client is a leading international banking organization with a strong presence in Switzerland and a global impact. To further strengthen their Internal Audit function, they are seeking an experienced
Senior Manager Internal Audit
with deep expertise in banking operations and processes and the relevant track record. We are looking for someone to join the team in Basel ASAP for at least 6 months.
Job Description
* Leading end-to-end audits within banking operations (middle and back office, treasury, payments, settlements, lending, compliance-related processes).
* Supervising, coaching, and reviewing the work of audit teams, ensuring high-quality standards.
* Acting as a subject matter expert in banking processes, identifying risks, and proposing pragmatic recommendations.
* Presenting audit findings to senior management with clarity, impact, and gravitas.
* Partnering with stakeholders across business and support functions to strengthen risk awareness and internal controls.
* Contributing to the continuous enhancement of audit methodologies and practices.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong mix of technical expertise and leadership presence:
* University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
* Professional qualification (CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) highly preferred.
* Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in internal audit within banking or financial services.
* Proven track record of leading and managing audits for 3-5 years, ideally in a global or complex environment.
* Deep understanding of banking processes, particularly middle and back office.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge and influence senior executives.
* Excellent communication skills in English
