The role

We are looking for a hands‑on technologist with exposure in the Commodities industry who is passionate about technology and has experience supporting enterprise‑wide systems.
The successful candidate is adept at partnering with end‑users to log issues, analyze issues, provide tactical / strategic solutions and ultimately deliver tangible business value & benefit.
This role will report into the Global Head of Application Support working on different business systems critical for the trading life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and mentor a team of APECT support engineers across multiple geographies.
Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure high-quality support and professional growth.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight
Oversee Aspect ETRM support operations, ensuring SLAs are met and critical trading processes are uninterrupted.
Act as the primary escalation point for high‑impact incidents and ensure root cause analysis and long‑term remediation.
Own the coordination of daily SOD/EOD checks and incident response planning.
Maintain shift/ROTA schedules and ensure 24x7 support coverage as needed.
Support of all modules of ASPECT system and upstream/downstream interfaces.
Monitor application availability and report issues pro‑actively.
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the key liaison between business users (traders, schedulers, back‑office) and the technology team.
Build strong relationships with vendor (Aspect) and internal stakeholders to manage escalations, upgrades, and roadmap planning.
Drive proactive communication and transparency with senior management on support KPIs and issue trends.
Strategic Responsibilities
Identify and drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements.
Contribute to planning and testing for patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.
Maintain system documentation and training materials for both internal and end‑user audiences.
Technical Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field
6–8 years in IT, including 3+ years supporting Aspect ETRM
Solid understanding of commodity trading (ideally base metals/concentrates) and trading lifecycle (pricing, risk, logistics, settlement)
Hands‑on experience with trade capture, mark‑to‑market, and P&L processes
Proficient in SQL and basic scripting (Python or VBA)
Familiarity with integration protocols, APIs, or data mapping is a plus
Exposure to other CTRM systems (e.g., ENDUR, RightAngle, CommodityXL) and ITIL/project management frameworks is a plus
Experience with application deployment, configuration, and testing
