Your Crew
:
You will be working on product and process improvements for launcher structures alongside a highly motivated and experienced team of engineers, thereby actively contributing to further increase production rate and quality of our launcher products. Your responsibilities will range from supporting our engineers in continuous improvement projects to owning and leading initiatives for product and process optimization, from ideation to implementation in production. This internship will thus give you a unique opportunity to apply your knowledge in a hands-on fashion and shape solutions that will have a direct impact on the business of Beyond Gravity's Launchers division.
Your Mission:
* Support and lead initiatives for product and process improvements in collaboration with the Engineering team.
* Design and develop functional prototypes of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD, 3D-printing.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other disciplines.
* Utilize programming languages (Python, C++) and Arduino for scientific data analysis and small automation tasks.
* Support test campaigns for the characterization of novel aerospace materials.
* Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to improving production processes.
* Support small-scale components and assembly design and production processes.
* Support the implementation of process improvements in production.
Your Story:
* Understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
* Prior experience or coursework related to mechanical engineering.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
* Ability to work independently while also being a proactive team player.
* Proficiency with CAD software (preferably Catia or NX), with a demonstrated "modelling track record" (e.g., Thingiverse page).
* Familiarity and experience with 3D printing technologies and processes (e.g. FDM).
Nice to have's:
* Prior experience in manufacturing and characterization of lightweight composite materials and structures.
* Experience with programming languages such as Matlab/Python for scientific data analysis, and C++/Arduino for small automation projects, with a demonstrated "coding track record" (e.g. Github repository).
