Location: Olten - 100% | Permanent
You will join a team of 7 traders and 2 algo traders operating on a 7/7 day shift basis during working hours in Olten, Switzerland. The team manages a virtual power portfolio consisting of owned or third-party assets—mainly renewables and batteries—in Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, and Italy. The team works closely with analysts, originators, meteorologists, and a 24/7 intraday desk.
Your Responsibilities
1. Trade a virtual power plant portfolio of wind/solar assets in DE, FR, FI, SE on a 7/7-day shift basis in Intraday and Day Ahead markets.
2. Develop intraday and day-ahead proprietary trading strategies focusing on the Nordic market and manage the risk of the Nordic portfolio.
3. Create daily bidding strategies for capacity and energy bidding with assets in Finland and Sweden.
4. Participate in the development and operation of automated and algorithmic trading strategies within the new Algo Framework.
5. Assess trading performance daily, analyze, and back-test executed strategies and automated trading systems.
6. Contribute to designing workflows around automated services and analysis tools.
7. Share knowledge with colleagues and the shift team.
8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as originators and the quant team.
9. Support the development of the team’s setup to become a leading renewables and algo trading team in intraday power markets.
Your Profile
1. University bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Economics, IT, or similar.
2. Experience with Nordic markets, especially Sweden, including DA, ID, and ancillary markets, and renewable asset management and trading.
3. Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset.
4. Open-minded, capable of multitasking, and accustomed to working under pressure.
5. Team-player and problem-solver.
6. Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills.
7. Proficiency in programming and IT skills, ideally Python.
8. Proficient in English; Scandinavian languages are a plus.
