Role Summary:
We are looking for an extremely skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead high‑impact AI/ML initiatives in Switzerland. This role is for someone who does more than model: you shape the business problem, define the right AI approach, and guide delivery to measurable outcomes. You will work in a Google Cloud first environment and collaborate closely with enterprise stakeholders and teams operating across AI, IT, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with senior business stakeholders to translate ambiguous needs into clear AI/ML use cases and roadmaps.
* Identify highest‑value use cases; challenge low‑value or “random” work to keep delivery aligned to impact.
* Design experiments, select methods, build models, and drive them into production.
* Take ownership from data discovery through validation, deployment, and iteration.
* Build and operate ML solutions using GCP/Vertex AI and the broader Google Cloud AI landscape.
* Collaborate on scalable ML pipelines and production readiness within GCP standards.
* Cross‑functional leadership
* Guide and mentor DS/ML engineers; set technical direction and best practices.
* Communicate progress and results clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Work effectively within environments tied to Google + SAP enterprise stacks.
* Ensure solutions align to existing architecture, governance, and vendor strategy.
Required Qualifications:
* 7–12+ years in data science / applied ML, with clear senior ownership.
* Proven ability to define “what to build and why” in partnership with business leaders.
* Strong record of shipping production ML with measurable business impact.
* Advanced Python and ML toolkit mastery (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, etc.).
* Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud ML/AI, ideally:
o BigQuery‑centric ML workflows
o Data/ML pipelines on GCP (Dataflow/Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Composer/Airflow)
* Fluent English; German/French is a plus.
Nice‑to‑Have:
* Experience integrating ML solutions with SAP data or SAP‑centric enterprise systems.
* Background in operations / supply chain / manufacturing / retail / luxury.
* MLOps/LLMOps leadership on GCP.
