The Hot Laboratory department at PSI is an independent organizational unit that operates the Hot Laboratory nuclear facility, a unique experimental facility in Switzerland for processing and analyzing radioactive materials. For our Hotcell Experiments group, we are looking for a Hot Laboratory Engineer.
Position: Hot Laboratory Engineer

Responsibilities
* Project management and handling of national and international radioactive transports
* Management of nuclear material and other radioactive samples
* Planning and execution of fuel returns (material selection, data compilation, creation of loading plans, coordination with nuclear power plants, updating of accounting)
* Creating cutting plans for sampling irradiated fuel rods
* PSI Safeguards Deputy, accompanying official inspections, and assisting with the preparation and review of report documents
Qualifications
* University or technical college graduate in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or chemistry, preferably with experience in the nuclear sector
* Experience with the transport of dangerous goods (Class 7 is an advantage)
* Good to very good knowledge of German and English (business fluent in spoken and written form)
* Confident use of MS Office
* Database and programming skills are an advantage
* Willingness to work with radioactive materials in controlled zones
