Job details Job Title: Automation Solutions Architect
Working model: Hybrid from Switzerland
Team: Automation department
Level: Professional
Location: Chiasso, Switzerland
Contract: Permanent - full-time (EUR 36 h/week)
Your impact Design automation architecture. Create and maintain the technical foundation that supports our automation stack—connecting RPA, AI, APIs, and internal tools into a cohesive system.
Select and evaluate technologies. Choose tools based on long-term value (e.g., UiPath vs. Automation Anywhere, OpenAI vs. Gemini, n8n vs. custom-built flows).
Build for scale and resilience. Design systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and smooth deployment with minimal downtime.
Implement secure and compliant solutions. Integrate data protection, identity access, secrets management, and compliance (GDPR, SOC2) from the start.
Define technical standards. Create documentation and templates for code quality, error handling, and monitoring.
Translate business needs into system design. Work with non-technical stakeholders to map goals to architecture diagrams and guide implementation.
Continuously evaluate and improve. Stay current on tools, AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, and MLOps; pilot and adopt what works.
Qualifications Experience: 8+ years designing enterprise systems focused on automation, integration, or large distributed software platforms.
Technical versatility: Fluent in APIs, data pipelines, message queues, microservices, with experience in SQL-based systems.
Scalability focus: Experience solving production issues at root cause and helping others prevent recurrence.
AI awareness: Know when to use a fine-tuned model vs. simple prompts or API calls.
Security knowledge: Map vulnerabilities and propose secure architectures clearly.
Strong communicator: Explain designs to executives and mentor technical teams; review code and raise standards.
Your Skills and Tools Automation Tools: UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, custom Python or Rust bots
AI & Integration: OpenAI Assistants, Google Gemini, LangChain, n8n, microservices (FastAPI, gRPC)
Cloud & DevOps: AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD
Data & MLOps: Kafka, Snowflake, BigQuery, MLflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker, feature stores
Security & Compliance: OAuth2, OIDC, secrets management, zero-trust, GDPR/PCI/SOC2
