As a Safety Engineer Trainee, you will support research and engineering activities aimed at improving accident analysis, data processing, and safety performance across international racing competitions.
Working within the Safety department, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing directly to ongoing research projects, experimental work, and the development of innovative tools used to enhance motorsport safety.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & DATA PROCESSING
Support the development of internal software tools aimed at improving accident data post-processing and analysis.
Contribute to the optimization and automation of data workflows used in safety engineering projects.
EXPERIMENTAL & SIMULATION WORK
Assist in experimental testing and simulation activities to support ongoing research projects.
Help prepare, execute, and document test procedures in collaboration with engineers.
DATA ANALYSIS & RESEARCH SUPPORT
Perform data analysis related to accident investigation and ongoing research projects.
Interpret results and contribute to technical insights used in safety improvement strategies.
REPORTING & COMMUNICATION
Contribute to the preparation of research reports and documentation for FIA working groups and commissions.
Support the communication of technical findings in a clear and structured manner.
Conduct literature reviews for proposed new research projects.
Identify relevant scientific and technical developments applicable to motorsport safety.
PROFILE
Engineering student or graduate in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience with data analysis tools and programming (Python or similar is an advantage)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset
Team player with excellent communication skills
Structured and rigorous approach to work
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Interest in motorsport; Formula Student experience is a plus
OUR OFFER
Monthly allowance: CHF 2,000
Remote work: up to 40% of the working time
Transportation: participation in public transport subscription or free parking provided
Must be enrolled at a university and able to provide a valid internship agreement
Start date: no later than 1st of August 2026
