Your role:
We are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our team. Are you ready to scale a high-performing engineering organization that delivers exceptional, compliant, and business-driven software products? As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive technical excellence, foster a product-first mindset, and align engineering initiatives with our strategic goals. By setting a clear engineering vision, ensuring operational efficiency, and managing resources effectively, you will contribute directly to our growth and innovation.
What you’ll do:
Leadership, Engineering Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Define and drive the company’s technical vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
* Balance short-term priorities with long-term initiatives to support sustainable growth and innovation.
* Represent the engineering organization within the leadership team, ensuring technical perspectives influence company-wide decisions.
* Foster collaboration across departments such as product, design, marketing, and others to align priorities and deliverables.
* Support autonomous teams in designing scalable, secure, and high-quality architectures.
* Oversee development stages from brainstorming to validation, testing, and production, maintaining a product-first approach.
* Manage the engineering team budget.
Product Development & Delivery
* Drive agile product delivery, enabling teams to deliver value frequently.
* Collaborate with product and external stakeholders to define strategy and roadmap.
* Translate product roadmap into technical solutions with engineering teams.
Team Management & Growth
* Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and growth.
* Improve workflows, tools, and processes to boost productivity.
* Set clear goals, create career development plans, and manage performance and growth.
* Address performance issues and resolve conflicts proactively.
Security & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (DSG) and ISO 27001.
* Implement best practices in data protection, security, and risk management.
What you’ll need:
* 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in leadership or management in a scaleup environment.
* Experience scaling engineering teams from 30 to 60+ engineers, fostering innovation and high performance.
* Strategic mindset balancing tactical needs with innovation goals.
* Strong expertise in backend systems, architecture, and design.
* Deep understanding of agile methodologies and modern software practices.
* Product-first mindset, aligning engineering with business strategy.
* Adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Nice to have: experience with security, data privacy (GDPR, DSG), and standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2.
