The Opportunity
A unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Power & Gas Proprietary Trader to join a leading trading firm in Geneva. This is a pure risk-taking position, focused on developing and executing proprietary trading strategies in European power and gas markets. The role is suited for traders with a long-term approach, looking to capitalise on market inefficiencies through deep fundamental and quantitative analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute mid-to-long-term proprietary trading strategies in European power and gas markets.
* Take full ownership of trading positions, managing risk and optimising returns.
* Conduct in-depth fundamental, quantitative, and technical analysis to identify market inefficiencies.
* Manage exposure within defined risk parameters while ensuring capital efficiency.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, brokers, and trading counterparties.
* Ensure strict adherence to risk controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in proprietary trading within European power and gas markets.
* A strong track record of consistent profitability and risk-adjusted returns.
* Deep knowledge of market fundamentals, trading structures, and pricing mechanisms.
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and test trading hypotheses.
