POSITION: Substitute Child Nutrition Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Instruction and Child Nutrition Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. In the absence of regular child nutrition worker, the substitute cafeteria worker would maintain defined standards of sanitation and safety of personnel, food preparations, kitchen equipment, and cafeteria facilities.
2. Gather, maintain, and store food and/or supplies for workstations.
3. Complete job tasks and/or other duties in assigned time frame.
4. May take and record food temperatures on serving line.
5. Follow serving instructions and exhibit knowledge of Child Nutrition Program meal pattern requirements with students.
6. Perform other tasks as needed.
Duties can include any combinations of the following:
1. Washes and cuts up fruit and vegetables for salads and desserts.
2. Assists in preparation of soups, meat, salads, and desserts.
3. Responsible for initiating appropriate pre-preparations.
4. Cleaning workstations, serving counters, kitchen floors, dining room tables and floors, as well as food and supply storage areas and restroom.
5. Washes and scours pots, pans, and other equipment.
6. Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies according to established procedures with manager supervision.
7. Demonstrates the ability to work with fellow employees.
8. Performs related work as requested. Due to the daily menu change, the change of work responsibilities may alter. Employees are expected to work in any area needed.
9. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
