We are looking for a Technical Accounting Analyst (m / f / d) to join our corporate Finance team. This position will be primarily responsible for providing technical analysis and reviewing revenue contracts for the global organization. You will work directly with senior accounting leadership, Legal, Sales, and Product Management to structure contracts, evaluate executed documents, and prepare/document conclusions. You will also actively engage in process improvement and future revenue automation activities across the company.
Tasks
1. Have an in-depth knowledge of US GAAP, focusing on revenue recognition rules for product, service, and technology companies (ASC 606).
2. Provide recommendations to legal and sales on structuring sales contracts to avoid revenue recognition issues post-execution.
3. Partner with Operations Finance to provide insights on future revenue timing, impacts of sales concessions, and other negotiating inputs.
4. Evaluate final agreements and document accounting conclusions in technical memoranda.
5. Upload accounting conclusions and contract characteristics into the company’s electronic contract management system (Salesforce / Apttus).
6. Lead the implementation of best practices for the global revenue team to scale business and expand revenue.
7. Continuously improve global accounting processes by identifying areas for streamlining, automation, or refinement.
8. Partner with accounting and reporting teams to provide guidance on complex transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, impairments, restructuring, litigation, etc.
9. Provide training on technical topics to finance teams within the segment.
10. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
11. Interface with internal and external auditors to support audit procedures.
Requirements
1. BA / BS in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience with ASC 606.
3. CPA required.
4. Ability to influence decisions based on expertise.
5. Proficient in Excel.
6. Public accounting experience preferred (Big 4 experience a plus).
7. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
8. High attention to detail and a desire for continuous improvement.
9. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
10. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
