The Work Model For The Role
The Sales Manager – Key Accounts & Electrical Wholesale is responsible for defining and executing the sales strategy for the assigned market scope across the region, with direct commercial responsibility for strategic key accounts Stadler and Knorr‑Bremse as well as the electrical wholesale channel. The role focuses on driving sustainable growth, increasing market penetration, improving profitability, and ensuring high customer satisfaction through a structured, customer‑focused, performance‑driven sales approach.
Key Accountabilities
* Define and execute the sales strategy for the AT/CH market, driving sustainable growth, profitability, and market penetration across key segments.
* Own and lead strategic Key Account Management for Stadler and Knorr‑Bremse, while developing the Electrical Wholesale channel across the DACH region through strong partner collaboration.
* Identify, capture, and convert new business opportunities by coordinating sales, pricing, and growth initiatives across internal stakeholders, divisions, and countries, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
* Ensure commercial excellence and operational rigor by leading contract negotiations, managing pricing and risks, driving consistent use of sales processes and tools, and acting in full compliance with ABB values, Code of Conduct and HSE requirements.
Qualifications
* University degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a comparable field.
* Proven experience in B2B sales with a strong focus on Key Account Management and/or Electrical Wholesale / Channel Sales.
* Solid track record in defining and executing sales strategies and delivering sustainable growth, profitability, and market share.
* Strong commercial skills, including contract negotiations, pricing, and risk management.
* Experience working in a cross‑functional and international environment, collaborating across sales, product management, and marketing.
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
* Fluent English (spoken and written); communicative German, with French and Italian considered an advantage (nice to have).
