What does a Freelance Online Mandarin Teacher do at Busuu?
As a Freelance Online Mandarin Teacher at Busuu, you’ll play a key role in helping students learn Mandarin effectively and confidently. On a day‑to‑day basis, your responsibilities will likely include:
Planning, preparing, and teaching online lessons (45 minutes each) for corporate clients.
1:1 Lessons: Deliver private lessons that include both language teaching and personalised coaching – conducting needs analyses, assessing levels, creating bespoke learning paths, checking progress during lesson time, and setting clear goals.
What we’re looking for in a Freelance Online Language Teacher
C2 Level of Mandarin
Valid teaching certificate such as TEFL/CELTA or related university degrees
Experience in online teaching and providing 1:1 coaching or personalised learning support
B1 or above in English
Bonus: Speaking more than two languages
Comfortable teaching: presentation skills, negotiations, business email etiquette, meeting management, multicultural communication, etc.
Excellent communication skills to engage and teach students
High‑Speed Internet, Modern Laptop / PC with a microphone and camera
Must comply with local freelance/contractor regulations
