Automation Manufacturing Equipment Project Leadership
Our client is a global leader in healthcare technology, driving innovation to improve patient outcomes worldwide. Based in the Morges region, this site specializes in advanced medical device manufacturing. We are looking for an Equipment Development Engineer to lead the design, automation integration, and qualification of production equipment for high-precision medical devices.
Your Role
You will combine technical expertise with project management to deliver robust, compliant, and cost-effective equipment solutions. This position involves cross-functional collaboration, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
* Lead the design and development of specialized manufacturing equipment.
* Define and validate User Requirement Specifications URS aligned with business needs.
* Establish equipment architecture standards hardware, safety, ergonomics, automation.
* Collaborate with external manufacturers and integrators for equipment build and customization.
* Integrate reliability and maintainability principles early in the design phase.
Project & Supplier Management
* Manage full lifecycle of equipment acquisition projects: concept to commissioning.
* Control scope, budget, timelines, and risks for successful delivery.
* Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
Validation & Testing
* Plan and lead Factory Acceptance Testing FAT and Site Acceptance Testing SAT.
* Oversee qualification protocols IQ, OQ, PQ for new equipment.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, performance, and safety requirements.
Automation & Process Improvement
* Define and implement automation strategies PLCs, robotics, vision systems, HMIs.
* Conduct risk analyses e.g., FMEA for robust equipment performance.
* Drive process optimization to improve cycle times and reduce costs.
Maintenance Excellence
* Embed preventive and predictive maintenance strategies into equipment design.
* Standardize best practices across sites and functions.
Documentation & Compliance
* Maintain complete documentation for all equipment lifecycle stages.
* Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.
* Support audits with technical expertise.
What You Bring
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related field.
* 5 years of experience in equipment development, automation, or manufacturing engineering.
* Strong project management skills supplier and budget management.
* Expertise in automation systems: PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, vision systems.
* Knowledge of equipment qualification processes URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ.
* Familiarity with GMP, ISO, FDA regulatory standards.
* PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
24-month Fixed-Term Contract.
Up to 20 suppliers, other sites, commissioning activities.
