The Lead/Principal Embedded Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating security measures for our drone hardware and embedded systems. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded systems architecture, secure coding practices, cryptography, and hardware security principles. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security and integrity of our drone platforms.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and implementation of security features for drone hardware, including secure boot, secure element integration, and anti-tamper mechanisms.
* Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for embedded systems.
* Develop and maintain secure coding guidelines and best practices for embedded software.
* Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of embedded systems.
* Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to integrate security features into the design and development process.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest embedded security threats and vulnerabilities.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers in embedded security principles.
* Contribute to the development of security-related documentation and processes.
* Work with external security researchers and auditors.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 8+ years of experience in embedded systems security.
* Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and communication protocols.
* Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly language.
* Experience with secure bootloaders, secure elements (e.g., TPM, HSM), and cryptographic libraries.
* Familiarity with hardware security concepts, such as side-channel attacks, fault injection, and reverse engineering.
* Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
* Experience with drone or robotics systems is a strong plus.
* Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP) are a plus.
