The Role
As Chef de Rang, you will lead your assigned service section and act as a key ambassador of our guest experience. Combining strong floor presence, precision, and warm hospitality, you will supervise junior team members, coordinate with the kitchen and bar, and ensure every guest receives attentive, seamless and personalised service. Your role is hands-on, guest-facing, and essential to maintaining the high standards of La Ferme and Fée Chäller.
Key Responsibilities
Service Leadership
* Lead your section with smooth, precise coordination during every shift.
* Support and supervise waiters and commis, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
* Prepare the dining room: mise-en-place, table setup, cleanliness and readiness.
* Maintain strong knowledge of menus, wine lists and daily specials.
* Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for timely and accurate order delivery.
* Ensure service standards and sequence are executed flawlessly.
Guest Experience & Standards
* Act as a visible and attentive point of contact for guests.
* Anticipate needs and personalise the overall dining experience.
* Provide confident menu recommendations and wine pairing guidance.
* Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate when necessary.
* Support VIP and returning-guest recognition.
* Uphold the property's refined tone of service and hospitality.
Team Coordination & Training
* Guide, coach and motivate junior team members throughout service.
* Participate in daily briefings and pre-service tastings.
* Support onboarding and training of new team members.
* Lead by example in grooming, communication and professionalism.
Operational & Financial Awareness
* Ensure accurate POS handling and billing procedures.
* Maximise section revenue through effective upselling.
* Assist with wine and beverage service under the Head of Beverage.
* Maintain equipment care and a clean, organised service environment.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
* Ensure full compliance with HACCP, hygiene and safety standards.
* Maintain impeccable personal presentation and uniform standards.
* Report any equipment or maintenance issues promptly.
Profile
* Previous experience as Chef de Rang or strong Commis/Waiter experience in a quality restaurant.
* Naturally guest-focused, warm and confident in communication.
* Strong product knowledge or the ability to learn quickly (food, wine, beverages).
* A team player with the ability to supervise and support junior colleagues.
* Ability to remain calm, precise and composed during busy service.
* Professional presentation and a passion for hospitality excellence.
What We Offer
