Strategic Communications Director
This role plays a vital part in elevating our organization's visibility and influence. As the Strategic Communications Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our corporate communications strategy, ensuring seamless collaboration with senior colleagues across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in journalism, public relations, or related disciplines, with a proven track record of crafting compelling content for diverse audiences and platforms. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for this position, as you will be working closely with high-level international actors and leading the development of our social and digital presence.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to drive employee engagement and cohesion, while raising our profile in line with our 2025-2030 strategy.
* Collaborate with senior colleagues to develop and execute external engagement strategies, supporting donor relations and policy influencing.
* Lead the development and strategic use of our social and digital presence, defining and updating our digital strategy and editorial line to maximize visibility and reach target audiences.
* Oversee the creation, production, and dissemination of communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, op-eds, and annual reports.
* Bld and maintain relationships with key journalists and external outlets for media relations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 15+ years of experience in journalism, public relations, or related disciplines, with a strong background in nonprofit, humanitarian, and/or development sectors.
* Proven ability to develop and execute effective communications strategies, with excellent verbal and written presentational skills.
* Experience working with high-level international actors, donors, multilateral organizations, and NGOs.
* Excellent command of English and French is essential.
* Strong commitment to creativity, adaptability, and evolving communications tactics and methods along with technology and trends.
* Honed understanding of the digital landscape, with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent a definite plus.
* Diplomacy, tact, and discretion are crucial for this role.
