Beschreibung

Languages: English required; Swedish or another Scandinavian language is a plus (not required)

Why this role exists

We’re building a CEA greenhouse platform that develops, constructs, and operates greenhouses across Scandinavia. Our goal is to combine best-in-class greenhouse growing with a modern, data-driven approach, so we can replicate performance reliably across sites and crops.

To do that, we’re looking for someone who brings the plant-science and agronomy depth that turns greenhouse operations into repeatable systems: crop physiology and morphology, measured experimen-tation, and a strong plant-health mindset (incl. IPM). You’ll help define how we translate plant biology into scalable “recipes” and decision-making tools for anything from tomatoes to strawberries to leafy greens.

How you’ll work (team + where things happen)

You’ll be part of a distributed growing team: the core team in Zug, colleagues in Sweden, and selected external experts (e.g., Netherlands).

While you are based in Zug, key trial and partner activity happens across Sweden and the Netherlands. Expect regular collaboration with:

* Seed companies and partners in the Netherlands (e.g., for variety evaluations and trial planning)
* Our trial activities in Sweden (e.g., Frövi), where you will supervise trials and validate outcomes

What you’ll do

* Own the “data-driven growing” initiative: turn crop outcomes into measurable levers (climate, irrigation, nutrition, light, substrate, plant density, etc.).
* Lead variety and product pipeline thinking: build a forward-looking view of which varieties/prod-ucts we should try next and why.
* Design and run trials with a rigorous approach (hypotheses, protocols, controls, KPIs, conclu-sions).
* Build and iterate crop recipes / SOPs for stable, repeatable greenhouse performance.
* Translate plant biology into operational parameters that the team can execute daily.
* Define and implement a robust monitoring + phenotyping approach (what to measure, when, and how to interpret signals).
* Build and continuously improve an IPM strategy suited for greenhouse/CEA (prevention, thresh-olds, scouting routines, biosecurity, response playbooks, biocontrol integration).
* Collaborate closely with engineering and operations so biology is embedded into tools, logs, and decision workflows (incl. leveraging Let’sGrow for operational structuring and comparing perfor-mance across sites from one platform).

What we’re looking for

* MSc in Agricultural Sciences / Plant Sciences / Agronomy / Plant Protection (or equivalent).
* Strong fundamentals in plant physiology/morphology and crop responses to environment.
* Confidence with experimental design and data interpretation (rigorous, structured thinking).
* Working knowledge of IPM in protected cultivation (or strong motivation to build it quickly).
* Comfortable in a greenhouse setting: hands-on, observant, and systematic.
* Clear communicator who can bridge growers ↔ engineers.

Nice to have

* Experience with greenhouse crops, substrate systems, fertigation, climate computers, sensors, or applied research projects.
* Basic coding/analysis (Python/R) or strong Excel + stats literacy.
* Scandinavian crop-production context (or interest in it).

What success looks like (first 3 - 6 months)

* A first set of SOPs and crop-recipe baselines that are executed and tracked.
* A clear trial roadmap and a few high-quality trials completed with actionable conclusions.
* A greenhouse-ready IPM framework (scouting cadence, prevention measures, thresholds, ac-tions).

What we offer

* Responsibility from day one in a small, fast-moving team with visible impact
* Help build a Scandinavia CEA greenhouse platform (develop → construct → operate) from the ground up
* Real ownership: shape crop strategy, trials, SOPs, and how we scale growing & plant health across sites
* Hands-on + data-driven: practical decisions backed by measurement, learning, and iteration
* Competitive compensation and growth as the platform scales
* Steep learning curve across greenhouse ops, plant science, engineering, and commercial execu-tion

How to apply

To apply, please send your full application to ivp@selectedgroup.ch by the 3rd of April 2025. We will con-tact shortlisted candidates only.
