Job purpose

Drives the development and execution of EADV's scientific strategy, in collaboration with the Scientific and Education Committees and serving as their strategic counterpart. Provides consistent strategic direction, focusing on identifying emerging trends, shaping programming priorities, and implementing new approaches to ensure that the academy remains at the forefront of dermatology and venereology education.

Duties / Responsibilities
:


• Drives the development and execution of the scientific strategy, ensuring alignment with current trends in dermatology, venereology and scientific aesthetic and the evolving needs of the European and international medical community in D&V, in collaboration with the EC, the SPC, the Education Committee, the PPR committee, the CEO, and key partners


• Act as a strategic partner to committee chairs, ensuring alignment between committee work and the academy's overall mission


• Ensures coherence across scientific activities for Congresses, and education activities. Partners with SPC, EC, and CEO to strengthen innovation and help define the focus for the Congress and other scientific/educational events.


• Identify new topics, new congress/educational formats, talented speakers, and teachers for the EADV events


• Collaborates with committees to define educational strategies, learning journeys, and curricula in collaboration with the EC and specialist dermatologists


• Identify gaps and opportunities for new programmatic initiatives, educational formats, and partnerships


• Provides scientific input on behalf of the organisation and represents EADV in discussions on scientific topics as needed


• Develops and maintains a network of key opinion leaders in dermatology & venereology, leveraging their expertise to enhance EADV's scientific endeavours and reputation


• Monitors international scientific discoveries and trends in dermatology & venereology by attending relevant conferences, congresses, and workshops, bringing insights back to inform on strategy


• Interacts with the internal teams for website scientific issues and communication strategies related to education activities via all communication channels


• Ensures all the information and decisions are properly transmitted to the Operational teams. Monitors and reports on the implementation of scientific decisions across committees

Qualifications and Skills

· Advanced degree in biomedical sciences, medical education, or related field (PhD or MD preferred)

· Preferred with previous experience in the field of clinical practice in dermatology, venereology, and or in the pharma industries with consequent pipeline drugs developed in dermatology

· Proven ability to identify trends and translate them into actionable strategies.

· 7+ years of Experience in scientific program development (congresses, symposia, schools) and / or medical education (academic level)

· English: Spoken & excellent writing skills required

· Innovative mindset

· Cross-collaboration ability

· Communication skills / Networking & representation

· Strategic leadership

· Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) is a plus
