The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Simulation Engineer to lead our bicycle wheel development projects from concept through to production. This role involves the entire development process, with a focus on simulation tasks critical to the project's success.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the development process of bicycle wheels, from initial design to final production.
* Define product specifications and performance objectives in collaboration with customers.
* Conduct simulations to optimize structural performance and durability, aiming for light and effective designs.
* Use simulation data to drive design optimizations and define composite layups, meeting performance and functional requirements.
* Design structures using 3D CAD tools.
* Collaborate with clients and incorporate feedback to align with market needs.
* Work with design engineers, CAD modelers, and manufacturers to refine designs and support industrialization.
* Utilize Siemens NX for modeling and FEM with NX Simcenter 3D for simulations, extending functionalities as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in the bicycle industry, focusing on wheel development and composites.
* Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD and FEM, especially NX Simcenter 3D; willingness to learn quickly is valued.
* Experience in anisotropic structural design.
* Knowledge of composite layup design and manufacturing processes.
* Strong project management and proactive problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills for client and team engagement.
* Advanced skills in parametric and surface modeling.
* Experience with experimental setups and data acquisition for validation.
* Python skills for data analysis and automation.
