The role
We are looking for a Subsidiary Accountant to join our accounting team for an 8-month maternity cover. During that time, the employee will be responsible for the accounting of some subsidiaries of our Swiss parent company. This will include daily finance operations, monthly closing, and year-end reporting.
The role will work mainly within our finance department, including Accounts Payable, in close collaboration with the Accounting Manager, along with regular contacts with our third-party accountants in different countries.
What you will do
* Processing daily bank reconciliations for all accounts and entities assigned, liaising with Senior AP Accountant when additional information is needed.
* Being responsible for monthly close activities (Payroll, Prepaid, Depreciation, Accruals, etc.), including liaison with external third-party accountants.
* Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations by the assigned due dates, ensuring accuracy of information.
* Reconciling Workday Financials with statutory ledgers per third-party accountants, including year-end closing for financial statement preparation.
* Providing information for VAT returns and reconciliations with third-party accountants.
* Participating in year-end audits per country.
* Supporting process improvements and documentation.
* Assisting with ad hoc projects and supporting other finance teams where necessary.
Desired skills and experience
* At least 3 years' experience working with General Ledger.
* Proficient in English; knowledge of French is desirable.
* Experience with accounting systems and proficiency in Excel.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Good time management skills and ability to work under deadlines.
