Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team and provide expert legal guidance across our global manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be a proactive legal advisor with deep knowledge of commercial contracts, labor and employment laws, compliance, and corporate governance, with a strong ability to operate within a fast-paced, high-growth global manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Risk Management
* Provide expert legal advice to internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters impacting the business, including commercial, operational, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with contracts, manufacturing operations, supply chain agreements, product liability, and intellectual property.
* Oversee and manage legal risks and opportunities across multiple subsidiaries and product lines within the company.
* Supports the development and implementation of company-wide legal policies and best practices.
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, operations, procurement, and corporate development, to ensure legal considerations are addressed in business decision-making.
Contract Drafting & Negotiation
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts including supplier agreements, distribution and sales contracts, licensing agreements, joint ventures, and NDAs.
* Support sales, procurement, R&D and operations teams in contract interpretation and enforcement.
* Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, including environmental, health and safety (EHS), labor laws, trade regulations, and data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Employment & Labor Law
* Advise on employment-related legal issues such as hiring practices, employee relations, workplace investigations, and terminations.
* Support HR and management in developing legally compliant policies and procedures.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation
* Manage and coordinate outside counsel on litigation and dispute matters.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
* A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S.;
* Bar admission in at least one state;
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house (manufacturing company is preferred);
* Strong track record drafting, negotiating and managing a variety of commercial contracts and strategic collaborations;
* A strong commitment to serving as an engaged partner to the business and the legal team on all things commercial contracting;
* Proven ability to deliver pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice in a timely and efficient manner
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to balance legal risk management with pragmatic business solutions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and various levels of leadership.
* Strategic, proactive mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
* A good understanding of technology and willing to support new legal projects that incorporate and use technology; and
* Willing to take on new challenges and effectively contribute to organizational goals.
Work Conditions And Physical Requirements
* Occasional travel may be required.
* Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use.
