Senior Global Business Process Specialist – Financial Accounting
The Senior Global Business Process Specialist (GBPS) – Financial Accounting & Tax Integration plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the end-to-end Business Process Management (BPM) strategy across global finance operations. This role is focused on designing, governing, and continuously improving cross-divisional processes, with a strong specialization in SAP S/4HANA tax integration and tax determination solutions.
As a subject matter expert in tax-related business processes, the GBPS ensures alignment with BPM guardrails and collaborates closely with stakeholders across Finance, Tax, IT, and other functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Tax-Focused Process Design & Strategy
o Lead the design and optimization of global tax-related processes, including Indirect Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax, and Tax Reporting.
o Drive integration of SAP S/4HANA tax solutions, including SAP Country Versions, Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC), and third-party tax engines (e.g., Sovos).
o Ensure compliance with Group Tax requirements and support harmonization across regions.
* Process Governance & Continuous Improvement
o Govern change requests and ensure alignment with strategic roadmaps.
o Monitor process performance and compliance, driving automation and efficiency in collaboration with IT.
o Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and performance metrics.
o Contribute to strategic initiatives such as ERP deployments and M&A integrations.
o Apply agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Lean) to lead cross-functional teams and coach peers.
Qualifications & Experience
* 10+ years in business process management, SAP ERP, and transformation programs.
* 8+ years as an SAP FI Consultant with deep expertise in tax integration and determination.
* Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA tax solutions, including DRC, Country Versions, and Tax Engines.
* Experience with Indirect Tax, Withholding Tax, and Tax Reporting across EU and global regions.
* Familiarity with Sovos or similar SAP-integrated tax platforms.
* Proficiency in BPM methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA).
* Agile mindset with experience in SAFe and Scrum frameworks.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Fluent in English; German is a plus.
