Position Overview
Lead a high-performing SAP Basis team to ensure the strategic evolution, security, and operational excellence of our SAP landscape. Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership on infrastructure, cloud, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
* Define and execute the SAP Basis roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
* Drive the adoption of SAP S/4HANA, Cloud (BTP, SuccessFactors, Work Zone), and hybrid architectures.
* Lead large-scale SAP projects (migrations, upgrades, cloud integrations) with a focus on scalability and innovation.
Team & Operational Excellence
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP Basis specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
* Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and service providers to optimize SAP performance and cost-efficiency.
Technical Oversight
* Ensure the stability, performance, and security of SAP systems (S/4HANA, EWM, MES) and integrations with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure, SAP BTP).
* Own SAP security, authorizations, and compliance (GDPR, SOX, ISO 27001) with a focus on governance and risk mitigation.
* Optimize SAP Basis infrastructure: sizing, HA/DR, monitoring, patch management, and performance tuning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Partner with IT leadership, architects, and business units to align SAP capabilities with organizational needs.
* Advise on emerging SAP technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation.
Qualifications & Experience
* 8+ years in SAP Basis administration, with 3+ years in a leadership role (team lead, project lead, or equivalent).
* Hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA, Cloud (BTP, SuccessFactors), and hybrid environments.
* Proven track record in SAP security, authorizations, and compliance.
* Strong project management skills, with experience in SAP migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
* Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent technical field.
* Fluent in German (B2 or higher) and English (C1).
* Certifications: SAP Basis, SAP Security, or Cloud (AWS/Azure).
* Experience with DevOps, automation (Ansible, Terraform), and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
* Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and agile methodologies.
