Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Market Risk Manager for the Grains & Oilseeds activities (G&O). This position is based in Geneva, with potential for relocation depending on our international operations.
Overall Missions:
* Oversee the risk-related activities of the Grains and Oilseeds platform and provide relevant risk management services.
* Analyze and report on all aspects of market risk, including understanding market dynamics, positions, strategies, back-testing, scenario stress testing, and engaging with internal stakeholders such as traders, platform heads, and management.
Your Missions and Duties:
* Analyze and report all market risk aspects related to Grains & Oilseeds (G&O), including:
o Assessing positions, strategies, and risk exposures beyond VaR, using stress tests and scenario analyses, and discussing potential risks and opportunities with the commercial team and management.
o Understanding asset positions and associated risks.
o Reviewing structured transactions and products, such as accumulators and physical assets, and developing new valuation tools.
o Monitoring adherence to trader mandates and limits.
o Collaborating with the Risk Systems team to improve practices.
o Managing limit breaches and assisting in setting risk capital.
* Coordinate with the Middle Office (MO) for the platform, focusing on:
o Enhancing processes like daily position and PnL reporting and price verification oversight.
* Handle all audit-related inquiries and process reviews.
* Lead and mentor a team of analysts and regional risk managers.
Your Profile:
* Extensive experience in Market Risk (7-10+ years), including:
o Trading book analysis
o Strategy identification
o Risk measurement using VaR, EaR, PCA, shocks, backtests, sensitivities, and scenario generation
* Strong expertise in Middle Office functions.
* Deep knowledge of commodities trading (10+ years), specifically in Grains and Oilseeds.
* Proficiency in quantitative analysis and programming languages such as Python and VBA.
* Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
