Senior Global Category Manager Procurement, Facilities and Real Estate - Your future role?
As a Senior Global Category Manager, you will establish a clear global IM&S strategy for Real Estate and Facilities aligned with the global procurement strategy, focusing on value creation and the bottom line. You will develop and implement strategies and tactical plans to source large spend or complex/business-critical categories for Facilities and Real Estate, ensuring supply continuity. Operate with high autonomy and lead sourcing teams within controlled spend parameters.
You will be based in Kemptthal or Vernier, Switzerland (on-site with 1 day home office/week) and report directly to the Global Head of IM&S.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Promote the development and implementation of category strategies within the global procurement framework
Analyze markets and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio
Lead sourcing strategy development, including RFQs and negotiations
Negotiate contracts globally
Select, manage, and audit suppliers
Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and involve stakeholders in development plans
Coordinate with Site Buyers, Regional IM&S Managers, and sourcing centers to identify alternative suppliers, deploy strategies, and collect supplier feedback
Identify demand and specification changes and communicate with suppliers
Manage key supplier relationships and lead conflict resolution
Ensure vendor performance targets are met
Stakeholder Relationship
Communicate market conditions to key internal stakeholders and the Global Head of IM&S
Support responsible sourcing projects and provide information to the Procurement Sustainability Manager
Influence business stakeholders to drive cost improvements
People Management
Build an engaged regional IM&S organization
Attract and develop talent
Develop succession plans and address performance gaps
Coordinate cross-functional talent management
Cost Optimization and Business Planning
Prepare initiative plans and forecasts aligned with the business cycle
Develop cost reduction projects
Provide price forecasts and market trend analysis
Sustainability
Drive sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives globally for Real Estate and Facilities
AI/Technology
Leverage AI and advanced technologies to enhance procurement processes
Implement digital tools for data analysis, supplier performance, and market trends
Stay informed on technological and industry trends
Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to develop solutions supporting procurement goals
Your professional profile includes:
10+ years’ experience in IM&S Procurement or related functions
5+ years’ proven leadership in an international environment
Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial
Cultural awareness and adaptability
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Good understanding of procurement processes and systems
CI mindset and managerial courage
Change management experience
