OverviewWe are currently seeking a Project Director within a PMC delivery model for a major investment in Zurich. This is a key leadership position within our team operationally reporting to the Turner & Townsend Managing Director for Switzerland and functionally, leading a multi-disciplinary team integrated within, and reporting to, the client’s regional leadership. The Project Director will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that our client objectives are not only met, but exceeded wherever possible and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate high level of quality, sustainability, and safety standards. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and drive performance through design development, permitting and approvals, procurement and ultimately construction.ResponsibilitiesAs the Project Director you will oversee, manage and lead a team providing the following services:Overall Project ManagementProject ControlsPreconstruction ActivitiesEnvironmental, Health & Safety ActivitiesConstruction ManagementQuality ManagementCommercial ManagementClaims ManagementProcurementProject Execution SupportProject Close-outWarranty ManagementKey Attributes and DutiesThe individual in this role should have both a strong pre contract and post contract, full life cycle delivery background. You will show excellent management and interpersonal skills, have an engaging approach and possess a very strong core technical skillset with an understanding of construction, an appreciation of commercial and have contractual awareness.The Project Director will:Act as the key day-to-day client interface and ensure objectives are met or exceededLead a multi-disciplinary team within a PMC delivery environmentReport to the client’s regional leadership and the Turner & Townsend Managing Director for SwitzerlandQualificationsExtensive experience delivering major projects and programmesExperience to include Project Director, Construction Director within a PMC, EPCM, Construction Management Environment or as a General ContractorExperience with Quality, Health & Safety requirements on construction sitesUnderstanding of project controls methodology, ability to develop and manage a construction schedule/program and direct others in the use of P6Data Centre experience preferred but not essentialProactive, meticulous, self-motivated and hands-on team playerExcellent interpersonal and communication skills essential; ability to communicate with clients and senior managementMultilingual skills desirable but not essential – German/EnglishAdditional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
