We are now seeking a Commercial Strategy & Operations Director, Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) to take full regional ownership of the commercial strategy and operational planning agenda across all Orthopaedics Business Units. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic integrator and transformation leader ready to shape scalable, data driven growth across a complex, multi country region. Objectives of the Position •\tOwn and lead the end to end commercial strategy and operational execution for Orthopaedics across the CEE region, aligned with EMEA and global priorities. •\tAct as the primary business integrator across Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to deliver aligned, decision grade plans through a robust Integrated Business Planning (IBP / S&OP) framework. •\tTranslate EMEA and global strategy into CEE specific priorities, investment choices, and multi year execution roadmaps based on market realities and customer needs. •\tLead portfolio prioritization and lifecycle management, including NPI sequencing, focus portfolio execution, and end of life recommendations across CEE. •\tDrive pricing, positioning, and value strategy execution in line with EMEA governance, ensuring clear value narratives and disciplined commercial decision making. •\tOwn the strategic digital transformation agenda for commercial operations in CEE—evolving commercial models, pipeline governance, and digital capabilities to enable scalable growth and execution excellence. •\tEnsure strong alignment between commercial strategy, professional education, and commercial education, supporting launches, focus portfolios, and digital initiatives. •\tProvide regional ownership for market facing activities (congresses, promotions, customer engagement events), ensuring compliance, strategic focus, and measurable commercial impact. •\tLead, coach, and develop a high performing matrixed leadership team, embedding a performance culture aligned with the Johnson & Johnson Credo and leadership imperatives. •\tServe as the key CEE interface to EMEA strategy, planning, and transformation forums, ensuring strong two way alignment and pragmatic execution. Qualifications Education •\tBachelor’s degree required •\tMBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred Experience •\tSignificant progressive leadership experience across commercial strategy, marketing, sales operations, or business planning. •\tProven leadership of cross functional planning and governance (IBP / S&OP or equivalent frameworks). •\tStrong experience influencing in matrix organizations across multiple countries and markets. •\tMedTech and/or Orthopaedics experience strongly preferred. •\tDemonstrated people leadership experience, including managing senior stakeholders and direct reports. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities •\tStrategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into measurable execution outcomes. •\tStrong business and financial acumen with disciplined planning and governance orientation. •\tExcellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level. •\tChange leadership capability with a strong digital and transformation focus. •\tExceptional communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage. •\tTravel required: Yes, 30–40%, domestic and international within CEE and EMEA Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
