A Day in the Life
Join Medtronic's Engineering Automation and Equipment Development organization and gain hands-on experience in developing manufacturing solutions for life-sustaining cardiac devices. As an intern, you will support real industrial projects focused on resistive welding equipment, automation, and manufacturing system requirements for pacemaker production. This internship offers exposure to equipment development, process engineering, and requirements definition in a highly regulated medical device environment, while working closely with experienced engineers across operations, quality, and R&D teams.
Internship details:
• Start date: April 2026
• Location: Tolochenaz, Switzerland
• Duration: 6 months
• Working hours: Full-time
• Work model: on-site presence required
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Support the development and optimization of resistive welding processes for pacemaker manufacturing
• Assist in the development of automated equipment, including equipment concept and standard architecture definition
• Help support sensor integration for process monitoring, control, and data acquisition
• Assist in the development of User Requirements Specifications (URS) for manufacturing equipment
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Materials, or Industrial Engineering
• Fluency in French and English, with strong verbal & written communication skills
• Basic understanding of industrial automation, manufacturing processes, or engineering documentation
• Analytical thinking and teamwork
Would be a plus:
• Interest in medical devices or regulated manufacturing environments
• Basic knowledge of sensors, vision systems, or industrial equipment
