For our client, a Switzerland headquartered international industrial company, we are looking for an experienced candidate to participate in the monthly group close, consolidation and external reporting processes.
About the Role
You will ensure accurate, timely and compliant consolidated financial statements under IFRS, drive improvements to consolidation and reporting processes, and act as a key finance partner to business units and senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidation process, including management reporting and statutory reporting deliverables.
* Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, notes and disclosures, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
* Own group reporting timetables, close instructions and deliverable tracking; ensure adherence across all entities.
* Review entity submissions, ensuring completeness, accuracy and appropriate analytical commentary (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow).
* Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, including profit in stock, dividends, intragroup charges and balances.
* Oversee consolidation adjustments (e.g. leases, pensions, share-based payments, impairments, provisions) and maintain robust supporting documentation.
* Support external audit activities for group reporting, including preparation of audit files and coordination with local finance teams and auditors.
* Act as technical accounting point of contact: research, interpret and document accounting treatments and prepare position papers where required.
* Maintain and develop consolidation and reporting systems including master data, hierarchy changes and user support.
* Drive continuous improvement: streamline close activities, enhance controls, automate recurring reports, and improve data quality and transparency.
* Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury and local finance leads to ensure alignment between performance reporting and statutory outcomes.
* Coach and develop colleagues (and potentially manage direct reports), building capability across the group reporting community.
Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline (or equivalent).
* Chartered Accountant - Swiss WP or international equivalent
Required Skills
* Solid experience in group consolidation and reporting within an international company or experience having audited these firms.
* Technical accounting knowledge and confidence advising stakeholders.
* Experience with consolidation tools and strong Excel skills; Power BI is an advantage.
* Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly to non-specialists.
* Experience designing and improving processes and controls.
