Volpi Group develops cutting-edge optical modules and systems for IVD and life science industries. We are expanding our finance and accounting capabilities to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and support our global growth.
Your Role:
Lead Volpi’s accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with Swiss GAAP RPC, local GAAP FER, and international standards. Oversee financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and optimize systems and processes. Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team in Switzerland, while also leading and coordinating the US accounting team to ensure consistent financial management across both regions. Support strategic decision-making and act as the primary liaison between the Swiss and US finance teams.
What You’ll Do:
* Lead and manage all daily accounting activities in Switzerland and the US, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
* Direct quarter-end and year-end close processes, prepare and review financial statements.
* Monitor and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with statutory, donor, and internal requirements.
* Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
* Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability, learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports aligned with organizational goals.
* Travel 10–20% to the US as needed for business purposes and team coordination.
You Have:
* Minimum education: Fachmann/Fachfrau im Finanz- und Rechnungswesen or equivalent; advanced certifications such as Master’s in Accounting/Finance, Swiss Chartered Accountant diploma, or Certified Expert in Finance and Controlling are a plus.
* 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial planning, and budget management, ideally in a managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of Swiss Code of Obligations, Swiss GAAP RPC, local GAAP FER; US GAAP is a nice-to-have.
* Experience leading teams across multiple locations and collaborating with remote stakeholders.
* Proficiency in financial software and systems, with advanced Excel, Power BI, and financial modelling skills.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
