This role will assist in processing spatial data, maintaining GIS databases, and providing GIS-based support for multiple departments.This position is critical in reviewing locates and updating GIS OSP records, supporting field teams, assisting in CAD-GIS integrations, and enabling ongoing GIS enhancements for fiber network management.Key ResponsibilitiesGIS Management & MappingMaintain and update GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrityPerform geospatial analysis and mapping tasks, including buffer and proximity analysisGenerate KMZ files for locates and field operationsAssist in digitizing as-built records and integrating them into GIS systemsSupport the GIS portfolio of applications and systemsProvide on-going reports as required or requestedManage locates screening application and integration with ArcGISPerform updates provided via mobile system to the GIS system of recordProvide support for case resolution for damages related to locate ticketsProvide support of business data and enterprise reportsGIS Application & Web Map SupportConfigure and maintain web maps, dashboards, and applications in ArcGIS Online/PortalAssist in creating self-service GIS tools to streamline workflowsSupport the use of Survey123, Field Maps, Collector, and StoryMapsWork with engineering teams to onboard OSP vendors into GIS workflowsData Conversion & IntegrationConvert and import CAD drawings into GISAssist in integrating FME workflows for data automationSupport GIS-based reporting, including Power BI and other dashboard solutionsMaintain metadata and ensure proper schema management for GIS datasetsOperational & Technical SupportAssist in GIS-related troubleshooting and issue resolutionSupport field teams with mapping needs and on-demand location analysisProvide documentation and training materials for GIS applicationsEnsure GIS data integrity for locates, permitting and network planningRequirementsEducation & ExperienceAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field3-5 years of experience in a GIS-related roleTechnical SkillsProficiency in ArcGIS ProBasic knowledge of spatial data analysis and geoprocessing tools.Experience with CAD-GIS integration and data conversionKnowledge of Python, SQL, or FME for GIS automation is preferredSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience working in the telecom or utility industryFamiliarity with 811 locates, OSP workflows, and engineeringExposure to GIS automation and scripting tools (FME, Python, ArcadeUnderstanding of network infrastructure, fiber routes, and engineering drawingsCareer Growth & DevelopmentOpportunity to advance into GIS Analyst roles, focusing on automation and system administrationExposure to network planning, GIS data modeling, and enterprise system integrationsInvolvement in digitizing fiber as-builts and enhancing automation workflowsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and reachMust be able to speak, write, read, and understand EnglishMust have visual acuityMust be able to lift 0-25 pounds
