To complete its scientific team, the MAH is looking for a Research Associate for Byzantine and Coptic collections (fixed-term contract).Your mission and responsibilities- Define scientific objectives for the Byzantine and Coptic collections preserved in the various sectors of the MAH in order to study, enrich, and promote them.- Propose and lead the scientific and cultural activities of the MAH regarding the Byzantine world and provenance research, by collaborating closely with the various sectors of the museum, with the Center for Research and Restoration, as well as with the curators of the collections.- Conduct research, including provenance research, and specific work on these collections, by initiating projects around the strengths of the Byzantine collection: crossroads of cultures, Christianity, etc.- Draft scientific, educational, or institutional promotional documents, printed or electronic, as well as project proposals (SNSF and others) with their intermediate or final reports, while contributing to the collective projects of the MAH.- Maintain close relationships with the network of Byzantine studies in Switzerland and worldwide (AIEB, ASEB, universities, museums, etc.).- Ensure the organization of symposiums, congresses, or other events in situ, as well as the promotion of the collections externally by speaking at specialized events.Profile- University degree in archaeology, history, or art history with a specialization in a field of Byzantine studies, preferably on one or more specific corpora.Required experience- Previous experience in an academic and institutional network, with the ability to maintain and develop it.- Proven experience in research and obtaining third-party funding for research projects.- Experience in the management, enrichment, and documentation of museum collection objects.Language skills- Excellent command of the French language with excellent writing skills.- Good command of the English language.- Good knowledge of ancient languages.- Very good command of standard Office Suite tools and programs.- Good knowledge of a collection management tool (MuseumPlus preferred).Professional, personal, and social skills- Ability to conduct research independently.- Ability and desire to work within a multidisciplinary team.- Ability to develop, finance, pilot, and complete projects based on third-party funding, including design, fundraising, project management, and final reporting.- Sense of organization, analysis, and synthesis.- Good communication and networking skills in their field.- Interpersonal skills and good writing and presentation skills.Why join us?Joining the MAH means taking part in a stimulating adventure, within a committed team that is shaping the museum of tomorrow.Conditions- Must be domiciled in the canton of Geneva or in the authorized border zone.- Applications must include a CV, a cover letter, copies of diplomas, and work certificates.- Application deadline: (Date removed)- Start date: To be agreed upon.- Contract duration: Fixed-term contract (CDD): maximum 3 years.- Class M, salary scale.For any information: click on this link jid09ab3c2aen jit0418aen jpiy26aen
