Position Summary
TheProduct Architect (PA)for theMotorController (MC)operateswithinH55’sDesignOrganization(EASA Part-21J DOA)andisthetechnicalauthorityfor thecompleteMCproductlife cycle—from architecturedefinitiontoindustrialization,testing, and certification.
The MCispart of aredundantdual-channelEPU architecture (CH1/CH2)designedtoensureresilienceagainstOCI (One-Channel-Inoperative)events andavoidLOPC-E (Lossof Power Control –Electrical)ataircraftlevel.
The PA reports to theChiefEngineer(CE)andworkscloselywithPMO,SupplyChain, Production, Test, and Compliance/Airworthinessteams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership (TL) & Architecture Ownership
* Define, own, andmaintain theMC product architecture, including HW, SW, control strategies, HV interfaces, safety mechanisms, and dual-channel topology.
* Makehigh-leveldesignchoices(HLD)ensuringcompliancewithH55processes, certificationnorms(CS-23, ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160), andtechnologystandards.
* Guide engineeringteams(Power Electronics, Controls, FPGA/SW, Test)throughtheV-Cycle:requirements→ design →integration→ V&V → qualification.
Stakeholder Collaboration (X-FUNC)
* CollaboratewithCEs, System Engineering,HardwareEngineering, SoftwareEngineering,MechanicalEngineeringProcurement,Industrialization, manufacturingmangement, Production, andQualitytoensurefull itemreadinessacrossdesign,procurement,assembly, andtesting.
* SupportMake/Buyanalysis, supplier technical evaluation, andDfM/DfA/DfTactivities.
Program & Schedule Accountability (PM Interface)
* Ensurescheduleadherencefor all MCdevelopmentphasesincludingprototyping,testing, qualification, and certification.
* Provideinputs,risks,priorities, andtechnicalKPIstoPMO,enablingefficient planning andresourceallocation.
Risk, Safety & Certification Alignment
* Classify andmonitorItem-Level Risks (ILR)and lead mitigation plans.
* EnsureMC compliancewithSafetyAssessments(FTA, FMEA, FHA)and support certificationdeliverablesunderARP4754A/ARP4761.
Reviews, Rituals & Reporting
* Organizeand leadTechnicalReviews(PDR, CDR, TRR, QTP, QTR)andrecurringteamtouchpoints.
* Ensure properconfiguration & change management (CM)through PRs/CRs, baselines, and traceability (CodeBeamer, DOORS,Polarion, or equivalent).
Lifecycle Support (Ownership)
* Contribute fromearly design → prototypes → industrialization → production → testing → qualification → certification, including activities on experimentalaircraftwhenrequired.
* Support factory readiness, equipmentqualification, and production ramp-up.
Required Qualifications
* Master’s orBachelor’s inElectrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Controls, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
* 7+yearsexperiencein product development of power electronics, MCs, drives, inverters, or HV systems.
* Background inHV architecture (300–1000 VDC),motorcontrol (FOC,redundancymanagement), protectionmechanisms, and real-timeembeddedsystems.
* Experience inhighly regulated industries(Aerospace preferred; Automotive/EV/Defense acceptable,medical,...).
* Strong understanding ofrequirements engineering, system architecture, integration, V&V,DfM/DfA/DfT.
Preferred Technical Skills
* EASAPart-21J, DOA processes,certificationand compliance.
* KnowledgeofCS-23/CS-25,ASTM F3230,ARP4754A,ARP4761,DO-160,safetyassessments.
* Experiencewithredundantarchitectures, fail-operationalsystems, andsafety-criticalMC design.
* Familiarity withIGBT/MOSFET/SiC-based inverters, thermal management, EMI/EMC mitigation.
* Test planning (HIL, SIL,dyno), qualificationtesting, engineeringreporting.

* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making.
