About Our Client
An international and well-established company in the FMCG sector, headquartered in the canton of Lucerne, is currently seeking a motivated and hands-on EHS Sustainability Engineer 100 %(m/f/d). This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives in environmental management and sustainability.
The role is available immediately for a duration of eighteen months, with the potential for extension based on performance and mutual interest.
Job Description
In this challenging and diverse role, you will help drive and enhance our EHS strategy by implementing key initiatives, ensuring compliance, strengthening our safety culture, and supporting sustainability and performance analysis through the following tasks:
* Drives the evolution of safety, health, and environmental concepts by shaping modern strategies and elevating the organization's EHS performance
* Designs, coordinates, and executes impactful, hands-on initiatives ranging from comprehensive safety inspections to engaging health campaigns
* Delivers high-quality trainings, compelling communication initiatives, and on-site action days that strengthen awareness and embed a strong safety culture across the facility
* Monitors safety standards with precision, conducts on-site risk assessments, and initiates targeted improvements that enhance operational safety and efficiency
* Develops and maintains structured process documentation, including ISO-related materials, operating instructions, and safety data sheets
* Leads internal audits and inspections while actively shaping the continuous advancement of the EHS management system
* Champions environmental stewardship by proactively driving sustainability efforts and implementing forward-thinking initiatives
* Supports the collection, interpretation, and reporting of key EHS metrics to translate data into actionable, results-driven measures
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate must have:
* Completed vocational training in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
* Further education such as HF, FH, or equivalent nationally recognized certifications
* At least one year of professional experience in occupational, environmental, or health protection, e.g., as an environmental engineer, safety and health coordinator, auditor, or consultant
* Business-level proficiency in both German and English
* Solid knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001, and ideally ISO 50001
* Experience with continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of environmental management
* A structured and detail-oriented working style paired with a proactive, independent approach
