Part-time Grant Funded Position
General Function
To plan, prepare and lead participants (school age or adults) in after-school classes consisting of academic assistance, enrichment, college career readiness and family involvement components of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Hours will vary from a minimum of 5 hours a week to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Education / Certification
Must hold a valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
Responsibilities
* To successfully incorporate the program vision, goals, and objectives into the activities of the site.
* To assist Site Coordinator in designing, developing and managing program components that lead to positive outcomes for participating children and their families.
* To assist in supporting a team that includes the Site Coordinator, Principal, and all other staff, and community volunteers.
* To actively participate in staff development workshops that are designed to contribute to personal and professional growth.
* Design, plan and facilitate activities with groups of 10+ children or adults. Create hands‑on lesson plans for the coming month in advance.
* Request needed supplies, materials and support in advance from the site coordinator.
* Assist in raising the literacy and numerical learning levels of students.
* Participate in supporting Site Coordinators in supervision of students.
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual or group lesson plans.
* Assist in assuring that positive academic and social outcomes are being achieved.
Supervision
* Actively participate in all training and staff support activities and workshops required by the program.
* Provide ongoing opportunities for children to experience success.
* Assist in maintaining the safety of students.
* Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness/injury.
* Assist in maintaining the maximum number of students enrolled.
* Complete daily reports (attendance, discipline, snack, etc.) for your class.
* Complete weekly lesson plans.
School/Community Relations
* Develop positive relationships with the school staff.
* Ask for help or assistance when needed.
* Assist in making the program engaging for students and staff.
* Maintain professionalism with parents, staff and community.
* Perform related duties as assigned.
Salary
$22 per hour
