To support our growing team, we are looking for a Junior Credit Officer.
Main tasks:
* Familiarize oneself with bank procedures and processes as well as utilization of core banking system.
* Critical review of assigned credit packages, submitted by Front office identifying points of improvement and reporting to credit analyst in charge of file and head of department.
* Assist credit analysts in preparing standard spreadsheets as a basis for a comprehensive credit analysis.
* Assist credit analysts in determining internal bank ratings using the internal rating system.
* Prepare draft questionnaires on financial statement of assigned files in coordination with the credit analyst.
* Check Credit Approval Forms for the appropriateness with the credit packages.
* Draft minutes of credit committees under supervision of senior credit analyst.
* Assist Credit administration in ensuring the documentation requested by Credit Committees is duly received and reviewed by the adequate stakeholders.
* Organize documentation pertaining to credit files under Credit Administration drive ensuring latest versions are easily accessible and ready for auditors review at all times.
* Assist Head of Department in preparing quarterly portfolio reviews.
* Familiarize oneself with transactional positions of existing clients and assist in performing their critical review in coordination with Credit Administration responsible person and Department Head.
* Familiarize oneself with reporting tasks conducted by Credit Administration and gain an understanding. of their purpose with a view to act as back up in absence of person in charge of Client administration.
* Department Head will assign ad-hoc duties from time to time.
Skills and qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Business, or similar)
* Experience (internships accepted) in credit/risk analysis, audit, corporate finance or transaction monitoring
* Languages: English & French
* Financial statement literacy
* Analytical rigor and attention to detail
* High standards of integrity, confidentiality and data protection
* Curiosity and learning agility; comfort with feedback and structured coaching.
