Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to join a mid-sized engineering organization within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for delivering CapEx investment projects from early concept through to successful execution and handover.
The role sits within an eperienced engineering team and offers the opportunity to contribute to both operational improvements and longer-term site development initiatives, including sustainability-focused projects.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and deliver engineering CapEx projects safely, on time, and within budget
2. Manage the full project lifecycle, including concept development, planning, execution, commissioning support, and final handover
3. Support and/or develop business cases to secure project funding and investment approval
4. Ensure full compliance with EHS standards, environmental regulations, and cGMP requirements, as well as internal engineering and quality procedures
5. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Operations, QA, EHS, Sustainability, and global technical teams
6. Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and execution strategies aligned with business needs
7. Monitor and control cost, schedule, quality, and risk, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues
8. Drive clear and structured communication across project teams and stakeholders
9. Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and decarbonization efforts where applicable
10. Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory expectations throughout all project phases
Qualifications
11. Minimum 5+ years of experience in project engineering within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
12. Proven experience delivering CapEx projects in GMP-regulated environments
13. Strong understanding of project management methodologies, engineering processes, and project execution principles
14. Ability to manage full lifecycle projects from initiation to handover
15. Experience working with structured project management tools and reporting systems
16. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific field
(Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Chemical or similar)
17. Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
