 
        
        Purpose of the Job:
 1. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and advanced automation solutions for Sonova’s global Operations Centers, R&D Centers, and Regional Centers
 2. Drive innovation in manufacturing and test automation systems aligned with Sonova’s technology and automation roadmap, product platforms, and operational excellence goals
 3. Provide support as a SME (subject matter expert) in analyzing and optimizing existing manufacturing equipment with a focus on potential automation, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
Tasks & Responsibilities:
 4. Manage cross-functional automation projects from concept to deployment, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication
 5. Ensuring the on schedule mechanical design and verification of new manufacturing equipment and automated systems taking into account the requirements for high process stability, cost-effectiveness, volume production, simple application and low maintenance
 6. Integrate advanced technologies such as robotics, machine vision, and data analytics to enhance process control and traceability
 7. Evaluate and manage external automation partners and equipment vendors, ensuring technical fit, compliance, and cost-effectiveness
 8. Ensure compliance of manufacturing equipment and software with applicable external and internal regulations
 9. Collaborate with R&D, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of automation into the product lifecycle and drive the understanding of design for manufacturing and automation
More about you:
 10. MSc, BSc, or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Automation Engineering; a qualification from a Higher Technical School (HF) is also acceptable
 11. Leading equipment development projects, with project management education or equivalent experience
 12. Several years of experience as a design engineer for manufacturing equipment
 13. At least basic 3D-CAD experience, ideally on PTC Creo 
 14. Independent, precise, and quality-oriented working style with strong customer focus
 15. Analytical and interdisciplinary thinking with ability to identify trends, future opportunities, and systematically solve complex problems
 16. In-depth mechanical engineering knowledge in precision products and strong expertise in manufacturing process automation
 17. Excellent command of English and good working knowledge of German
 18. Advanced knowledge of automation in manufacturing processes for fine mechanical precision products, but not required
