As an experienced Business Risk Manager within the First Line of Defense (1LoD) at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will serve as a dedicated operational partner to our Private Banking front units. In this role, you will independently execute risk management controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the primary liaison between the front office and the Second Line of Defense (2LoD). You will focus on the consistent delivery of high-quality control activities in AML/KYC, cross-border, and investment suitability, ensuring the stability and efficiency of our risk framework through reliable, hands‑on execution.
Your Responsibilities
Independently perform 1LoD control activities and monitoring tasks in adherence to guidelines
Manage the documentation of front office controls and oversee remediation measures in AML/KYC, cross‑border, and investment suitability domains
Collaborate with front office colleagues to provide practical, day‑to‑day support on risk matters; ensure seamless communication and accurate information flow between front units and 2LoD functions
Maintain the business risk management framework by managing data collection, reporting, and the upkeep of control procedure documentation
Prepare and deliver training and communication materials to promote a consistent risk‑aware culture within the front office
Your Profile
University degree or equivalent qualification in Banking, Compliance, Law, Risk Management, or Business Administration
Professional experience in Front Risk Management, Business Support, Compliance, Legal, or Audit, preferably within a private banking environment
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with a focus on accurate delivery
Proficient handling of IT tools is required, including advanced Excel skills and familiarity with banking systems (e.g. Avaloq) is an advantage
Reliable, solution‑oriented, and hands‑on professional who values accuracy and pragmatism by executing core responsibilities effectively and maintaining high operational standards
Collaborative team player with high flexibility and adaptability and ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned scope, and manage ad‑hoc requests efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders
Proficiency in English and intermediate in German is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus
