The role
As Senior Accountant / Accounting Team Lead, you will take ownership of the financial management of a portfolio of international clients while providing subject-matter leadership to accountants and local bookkeepers. You will act as a senior finance partner to clients, ensuring high-quality financial reporting, audit readiness, compliance, cash management, and continuous process improvement.
You will play a key role in preparing, coordinating, and supporting financial audits, working closely with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders. This position combines hands-on accounting, audit ownership, client-facing responsibility, and team leadership, making it ideal for an experienced accountant ready to take the next step.

What you’ll do
Key responsibilities include:
Accounting & Financial Management
Full responsibility for accurate and complete financial records and financial statements for assigned clients
Perform month-end and year-end closings
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Prepare financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders
Act as senior point of contact during audits and regulatory reviews
Reporting & Analysis
Develop, maintain, and improve financial reporting frameworks
Produce regular and ad-hoc management reports
Analyse financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders
Establish and monitor KPIs to support business performance
Treasury & Cash Management
Oversee daily cash management activities, liquidity monitoring, and cash forecasting
Support bank account setup and ongoing banking relationships
Assist with KYC, AML, and internal compliance processes
Ensure adherence to internal treasury and risk policies
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and develop accountants and local bookkeepers (directly or via dotted-line responsibility)
Act as subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex accounting topics
Collaborate closely with clients, auditors, tax advisors, and external partners
Continuously assess and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and quality
Identify business risks and propose mitigation measures
What you’ll bring
You will need to be/ have:
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar senior role
Proven experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits
Strong leadership mindset with experience guiding or mentoring others
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture
Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Experience with Xero and D365 Finance & Operations is an advantage
Fluent English (written and spoken); German is an advantage
