Role Description:
The IT Support Engineer / Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and network infrastructure. This dual-role position involves providing technical support to end users while also ensuring the smooth operation of network components, servers, and connectivity across the organization. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in IT support, networking principles, and system administration, along with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide first- and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
* Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, routers, and switches.
* Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and network equipment.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access in Active Directory and other platforms.
* Ensure network and data security through regular updates, patches, and monitoring tools.
* Support remote users and ensure VPN, VoIP, and connectivity services are operational.
* Document support processes, issue resolutions, and network configurations.
* Work closely with vendors and service providers to manage IT resources and resolve issues.
* Assist in IT projects such as network upgrades, system migrations, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 0+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and common IT tools.
* Familiarity with Linux systems, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure/AWS) is a plus.
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or MCSA are preferred.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support users at all levels.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
