Linux engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of complex computing systems. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of Linux-based services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining key Linux services, contributing to package building infrastructure, supporting PXE boot services, collaborating with upstream open-source communities, and developing automation tools.
This role requires strong technical skills, including experience using and managing Linux systems, basic knowledge of service operations or system administration, and understanding of Linux package management. Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Python development, and configuration management systems such as Puppet or Ansible would be an asset.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation. Spoken and written English are essential, with a commitment to learning French.
We offer a monthly stipend ranging between 5196 and 5716 Swiss Francs (net of tax), comprehensive health insurance, pension scheme membership, and installation grant. You will also receive on-the-job training at CERN and language courses for English and/or French.
