This is an SAP application operations role focused on run excellence, with clearly defined governance and compliance responsibilities. Embedded in the Centre of Excellence, the position ensures stable, reliable, and audit-ready SAP operations across Vetropack Group’s international environment.
You will act as the central coordination point between internal stakeholders and external SAP service providers, covering daily operations, change and transport governance, and compliance topics.
The role provides operational support to the current RISE with SAP transformation to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, followed by the subsequent upgrade to the SAP S/4HANA 2025 release. Both phases are supported with a strong focus on operational stability and controlled change, including the transition away from SAP Solution Manager and the adoption of new transport and test management tooling.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Operations
1. Own the operational SAP application landscape across Vetropack Group, maintaining stable and reliable daily operations in a regulated, international environment
2. Coordinate SAP application operations with internal experts, business stakeholders, and external service providers, acting as the primary point of contact for operational topics and incidents
3. Plan and coordinate releases, system updates, maintenance windows, and downtimes to ensure operational continuity
4. Oversee SAP documentation standards on the SAP Enterprise Portal and SharePoint
5. Support SAP operations in parallel to the ongoing S/4HANA transformation, with run stability and long-term readiness as the primary focus
Change & Transport Governance
6. Govern SAP system changes and transport activities using SAP Solution Manager. As part of the RISE with SAP transition, the role includes supporting the move to new tooling for transport and change management
7. Plan, schedule, and control transports into productive systems, ensuring changes are compliant and traceable
8. Handle standard and emergency changes from an operational perspective, including occasional evening imports into productive systems where business or sequencing requirements demand it, minimizing disruption to daily operations
9. Perform initial analysis of change and transport issues and escalate where required
10. Ensure test documentation is maintained and aligned
11. Coordinate test planning and execution with project managers and business stakeholders
12. Contribute to the continuous improvement of change, release, and transport processes alongside transformation activities
Audit & Compliance
13. Support audit-relevant SAP topics and documentation in cooperation with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and service partners
14. Manage security-relevant topics including emergency access approvals and critical authorizations, in line with internal policies
15. Coordinate the review, prioritization, and implementation of SAP Security Notes together with technical teams
Your Profile
16. Extensive hands-on experience in SAP application operations, SAP support, or SAP governance, preferably in a regulated or international organization with a strong focus on run operations
17. Solid working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and SAP change and transport processes, including governed changes and daily transport coordination
18. Proven track record of collaborating with external SAP service providers in distributed, international environments, serving as a coordination and escalation point
19. Practical experience supporting audit and compliance topics in SAP environments, including documentation preparation and audit readiness
20. Good understanding of SAP security topics such as emergency access, critical authorizations, and Security Notes handling
21. Comfortable working in IT operations or IT service management environments, balancing operational stability with controlled change
22. Good coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work reliably across teams, locations, and organizational boundaries
23. Fluent English; German is an advantage
24. Experience in SAP Enterprise Portal administration is an advantage
