Overview
The Wyss Zurich Translational Center – Wyss Zurich – is a joint startup accelerator of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich). It was established to foster translational research focused on developing treatment protocols and clinical therapies, as well as novel technologies and intelligent systems, in the emerging fields of Regenerative Medicine, Robotics, and related hybrid technologies. Wyss Zurich brings together world-leading experts from both institutions in multidisciplinary teams, pooling their knowledge and expertise.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategically translating the centre’s cutting-edge scientific work into compelling, accurate and impactful messages that support innovation adoption, stakeholder engagement, and translational success.

Job description
Marketing & Brand
* Develop and execute an integrated, science-driven marketing and communication strategy
* Create scientific content from Wyss Zurich Projects and Platforms for website, newsletters, social media channels, etc. ensuring scientific accuracy and accessibility for diverse audiences
* Manage and grow Wyss Zurich’s digital presence across website, email, and social media channels, including planning, publishing and monitoring of campaigns
* Create and coordinate content e.g. scientific materials, videos, founder spotlights, program announcements, newsletters, etc. to support marketing strategy
* Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all platforms
Communications & Ecosystem Advocacy
* Act as a key point of contact for external communications with entrepreneurship programs at ETH/UZH, investors, media and ecosystem partners
* Represent Wyss Zurich at events and help strengthen relationships and community presence
* Act as a champion for the Wyss Zurich’s mission, values, and the broader startup ecosystem
* Assist with press releases, media outreach, and ecosystem communications as needed
* Support communicating and amplifying successes with platforms, boards, projects, mentors, alumni, and partners
* Develop communication materials that celebrate scientific progress, enhance transparency and foster organizational alignment
Event Development & Support
* Support planning, coordinating, and executing Wyss Zurich events such as, workshops, networking events, annual event, and community gatherings
* Support event logistics including timelines, speakers, registrations, on-site support, and post event follow-up
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver engaging and professional events that reflect our mission and culture
Program & Team Support
* Work closely with project leaders, head office, and technology platforms to understand their needs and translate them into effective communication and marketing activities
* Track marketing and event performance metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement
* Assist with ad hoc projects that support Wyss Zurich’s growth and impact
Profile
Requirements:
* Degree in marketing, communication, life sciences, or a related field
* Several years of relevant experience in science communication, marketing or ecosystem building, ideally at the interface of academia, startups, life sciences, MedTech or deep‑tech
* Proven ability to transform complex scientific and technical content into clear, compelling stories for different target groups (experts and non‑experts)
* Strong digital communication skills (web, newsletters, social media); experience with content management systems, basic analytics and simple visual or video formats is an advantage
* Excellent written and spoken English; very good German skills are a strong asset
* Confident communicator, able to interact professionally with founders, professors, clinicians, investors and institutional stakeholders
* Hands‑on, proactive and structured personality who enjoys working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and is motivated by tangible impact on patients and society
