We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for our client company based in Thun, Canton of Bern, to contribute to secure and high-performance systems in the space sector.
What You’ll Do:
* Drive the design and development of modern IT architecture tailored to highly secure applications in the space sector
* Build, operate, and continuously improve a resilient and secure IT infrastructure supporting development, testing, and production environments
* Analyze technical requirements and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams
* Evaluate and integrate systems, platforms, and software components based on reliability, performance, and security criteria
* Define configurations and system integrations across diverse environments, including data centers, virtualization platforms, and cybersecurity layers
* Contribute to continuous system improvements, ensuring availability, scalability, and maintainability
* Create and maintain clear, comprehensive system documentation
* Be part of a dynamic environment where stability meets innovation and your ideas truly count
What You Bring :
* A completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
* Several years of experience as a DevOps or Systems Engineer, ideally with exposure to aerospace or defense environments
* In-depth knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
* Experience with Windows and/or Linux systems, as well as networking technologies and protocols
* Strong architectural understanding of virtualized environments; cloud and hybrid infrastructure knowledge is a plus
* Familiarity with space system components such as TMTC and onboard computers is an advantage
* A hands-on, proactive approach to challenges, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently
* Solution-driven mindset with strong interdisciplinary communication skills
* EU or Swiss work permit and eligibility for security clearance (clean public record required)
* Business fluency in English;
* Very good knowledge in German
