About Liom
Liom is a Swiss health-tech startup dedicated to revolutionizing the field of personalized health monitoring. Our objective is to develop the first health wearable monitoring glucose non-invasively. We will launch our wearable as a consumer product in Europe in 2028, and then as a medically cleared product in the US. Our team consists of over 35 staff, including more than 15 PhDs, with deep expertise in entrepreneurship, product development, and the required engineering as well as scientific disciplines. We are operating out of our lab facilities in Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland.
Your profile
* PhD or MSc in Physics or Engineering, with 5 years of experience in metrology and/or testing of micro-optics and/or optoelectronic systems.
* Strong hands-on experience developing and operating optical test benches.
* Demonstrated expertise in creating and executing verification and test plans.
* Practical experience with automation tools such as LabVIEW and/or Python.
* Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple parallel priorities.
* Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
Following skills are a plus:
* Experience with a variety of optical spectroscopy techniques.
* Industry experience in consumer electronics.
* Familiarity with micro-optical manufacturing and processing techniques.

Your mission
* Lead the development of test concepts for micro-optical components, optical assemblies, and integrated photonics systems, including definition, implementation (opto-mechanics, electronics, software), and maintenance of test infrastructure.
* Develop test plans, procedures, and validation strategies tailored to a wide range of optical characterization requirements.
* Lead and conduct investigations and test campaigns, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
* Collaborate with R&D teams to define testability requirements early in the product design phase, ensuring test-driven development.
* Supervise prototype and pre-production testing phases
* Work cross-functionally to support system definition, prototyping activities, and foster data-driven decision-making.
* Implement process improvements to increase reliability, repeatability, and traceability of test results.
* Contribute to the management and maintenance of state-of-the-art lab infrastructure, including the definition, planning, and continuous improvement of test facilities.
* Mentor and coach junior team members
